On tuesday jed and I went in to the doctor for our scheduled appointment and my swelling and blood pressure were up. My doctor put me on bedrest, scheduled and NST and told me to come back on Friday. I had my Non stress test the next day and everything looked good and my blood pressure had gone down. I assumed that would be the case on Friday at our appointment so I didn't bring my hospital bag and I was not mentally prepared either. It was Gavins birthday and we were planning on going to his party straight from the doctors office. Well my blood pressure was still high so dr. Kaelberer decided he didn't want to wait and sent me straight to labor and delivery to be induced. I was so nervous and a little freaked out! I thought I was ready for Her to come but I obviously wasn't! They checked us into the hospital at 6:00 pm on the 7th and started me on an oral medicine to get my body ready for pitocin (if your body isn't ready for it, pitocin doesn't work sometimes). I do NOT know how people have a baby naturally. My contractions were every 2 minutes from 6 until 2 in the morning when I couldn't take the pain anymore so I got the blessed epidural. It was the most magical moment! I was able to sleep until 7 when dr. Terry came in and broke my water and started the pitocin. My dr wasn't on call and had a day of skiing planned with his family but said he would try to make it back in time to deliver Zoey. Luckily Dr. Terry was on call who I know very well because I used to work for him. So they broke my water at 7 and when they checked me at 10 I had gone from a 1 1/2 to a 2. I started to worry that I wasn't going to progress on my own and I'd have to have a c- section but at 1 I started feeling more pressure and was dilated to a 6 and by 2 I was complete! It was crazy how quickie things picked up. They had me sit for an hour and a half trying to let my body bring the baby down on it's own so I started pushing at about 3:30. I pushed for about 20 minutes and then had to sit and wait while they called Dr. Terry in to come deliver. It was soo hard to just sit and not push because the urge was very strong. Once dr Terry came in there was so much chaos with all the people getting the room ready. I pushed 3 times with him in the room and she was here!

The proud Daddy. I thought Jed might have a hard time with watching the birth but he was awesome! He has been such a good Dad and he loves Zoey so much!
When she came out she hardly cried which made me so nervous but she was perfect with no problems. I am so in Love with her!!!

After her first bath in the hospital

Going to the dr. At 3 days old. She was jaundice and they had to check her levels.

At home with mommy (this is what we do all day since we can't go outside.. Having a baby in January during RSV season is no fun!)

Smile! She has started making more faces and smiling at me and Jed. She is so much fun! We have to keep mittens on her because the second we take them off she claws at her face. It is so sad! I have a picture on my camera that I will post once i get my memory card uploaded.

Wide eyes! I cant wait to see what color her eyes will be. She has a TON on hair on the back of her head. She has a cute baby mullet :)

Stretch! She sleeps with her arms above her head sometimes.. So cute!!!

Naptime with daddy... She sleeps really well during the day but not so good at night. She loves to be cuddled up to us at night to sleep. We are trying to get her to sleep in the bassinet but she has a mind of her own!

Watching TV with dad in her cute ballerina outfit. She came home in the outfit but it fits a lot better now .
I have a ton more pictures I need to post including her first photo shoot so hopefully i will get those up soon.
I am so in love with this little baby and I am so grateful that I get to be her mommy. She is such a sweetheart!

i need to get healthy again so I can come out for more Zoey time!!!!
I'm sad that my children are possible harbingers of disease so I can't see you and her more often. She's too cute. Post more pictures soon! Go have Jed buy you an SD card usb plugin. Then you just take your card out of your camera, put it in that, and plug it in to your computer. You can get them for like $6-10 at Walmart.
We sure love baby Zoey.
I'm so glad everything went well with your delivery! Mine was very similar in that I went in for a NST and was immediately taken upstairs to have my baby. Kind of scary in the moment, I'm so glad you're both doing well! Zoey is so beautiful! Congrats again!!
I ran into Jed at my dad's office last week, he's so nice! Let us know when you're ready to go out or have visitors :)
