Sara's Christmas Post

Here is the second of two tags... This Christmas one is from Sara and the one below about the picture is from Elisse... I don't usually do these but since I am a "self proclaimed chrismas-aholic now, I guess I better do it! :)

Christmassy Tag!

Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your friends. Okay, here's what you're supposed to do, and try not to be a SCROOGE!!! Change all the answers so that they apply to you. And tag a few friends to spread the Christmas joy!
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping Paper! I love to wrap presents and see how many different ways I can do the ribbon and bows
2. Real tree or Artificial? I wanted an artificial tree, but Jed was determined to have a real one. It is already dying, but at least its pretty still.
3. When do you put up the tree? I wanted to do it back in November, but Jed made me wait until the first week of December.
4. When do you take the tree down? I don't know... I've never had a Christmas Tree before so I guess I'll find out this year. Since mine is already dying, probably right after new years If I can make it last that long
5. Do you like eggnog? Eww... NO
6. Favorite gift received as a child? I don't even know... My parents have always gotten us really fun gifts so there are too many to choose from
7. Hardest person to buy for? Dad's are hardest. Mine and Jed's!
8. Easiest person to buy for? Kids in General.. and my nieces and nephews. My sisters are pretty easy too
9. Do you have a nativity scene? No, but Joanne just gave us this gorgeous figurine of Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus made out of wood. Its really pretty! Thanks Jo!!! :)
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Neither yet... maybe once we have kids I'll get on the Christmas letter train
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? I second Sara's notion on the weird socks because I got the same ones.... however I will admit to wearing mine all winter long a few years! Now I'm married and that would just be embarrassing...:)
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Elf DEFINITELY! Jed and I watched it when we put up our tree...
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? This year I started in November. Usually I'm a last minute shopper though... thankfully this year I'm almost done!
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I know I haven't, but my sister gave me a sweater once for Christmas that I gave her for her birthday without remembering... that was funny
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Sara's answer is my answer Our Swedish Christmas Eve dinner. FarMor (my swedish grandma) used to make it for us, and when she passed away, my mom took over and we all help now (We have Swedish Meatballs, Mashed Potatoes, usually ham but this year we are having turkey, jello, and my FAVORITE cut up dill pickles. Sara and I have a very funny picture of me eating a pickle... we usually need 2 jars because we eat the first one while we are cutting them up) Then on christmas morning we have a very yummy brunch - this really delicious fruit mix (it's a frozen fruit thing my mom makes, defrosted with 7-up, sliced bananas, and some fresh fruit), muffins, eggs, bacon, etc. I just love Christmas!!
16. Lights on the tree? Of course!!
17. Favorite Christmas song? Im not usually a fan of christmas music except the day of, but I love anything Josh Groban... and my favorite christmas song right now is Believe by Josh Groban (its on the polar express)
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay at home. That's what Christmas is!!
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? YES! Everyone knows the song...
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Neither yet... I'm working on that
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Sara's Answer- When FarMor was alive, we used to open all the presents from them on Christmas Eve (the presents from Tomten the Swedish Santa). But now we just open one present, usually jammies on Christmas Eve. And the rest are Christmas morning.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Bad traffic, angry shoppers, lines... and weight gain!
23. Favorite ornament theme or color? My tree is Red and Silver... all my presents under the tree are silver and blue... with a little red and gold mixed in
24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? We don't really do Christmas dinner, since we have such a big Christmas Eve dinner and brunch in the morning.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year? Uh... nothing... I asked Santa for Clinique Happy Heart Perfume... We'll see if Santa remembers ;)

Elisse's Tag

Well.... I hate Tags... but I have been tagged twice... so here is the one from Elisse... I'm supposed to post the 4th picture in my 4th album.... I was going to do this on my home computer, but my internet isn't working (actually one of our neighbors internet that we occasionally borrow isn't working) so it'll be interesting for all of us to find out what picture that is on my work computer...

This is one of my best friends Emily and her Fiance Jason... I have a photography and Videography company with another one of my best friends and this is one of their engagement pictures. I have a lot of fun doing weddings and taking pictures of such happy and cute couples! If you want to see more pictures go to www.customfitt.com or www.customfitt.blogspot.com (the blog is where I post all the pictures I've done. I need to update it with two or three more events but its a good idea of what I do)

So there you have it! The 4th picture in my 4th folder.... hopefully Jason and Emily don't mind me using it! :)

Our First Christmas Tree

Yesterday Jed and I finally got our first Christmas Tree! I have been looking forward to this for months and ornaments and ribbon have been piling up in my spare bedroom because I have recently learned that I have a Christmas addiction. I love christmas ornaments and decorations! We went to a lot by our house and got this tree (it isn't perfect, but it was cheaper and I think it has character) and then Jed helped me string up the lights and put the ornaments on while we watched Elf (one of my favorite Christmas movies). Jed thinks I had too many ornaments, but I like it! It was a lot of fun and hopefully it will continue as a tradition to put up out tree together every year.

I don't have Internet at home yet, so I have gotten behind... yes, I am posting Halloween pictures even though Thanksgiving is next week... but life gets crazy.. as I'm sure you all know. I'm going to see Twilight in a few hours and I'm excited, but I'm not expecting much! Last Weekend

This last weekend was a lot of fun! On Friday we went to dinner at the Blue Iguana with Mark and Amy, Cook and Alex, and Brady. Jed got a HUGE burrito that makes me sick thinking about it... he ate the whole thing which was shocking, but I was proud. After dinner we drove up to the place where you can look out over the valley (make out point?) and were up there for a few minutes. It was a pretty view of the valley, but too many cars were parked up there. We're all old married people, so after that we all just went home. On Saturday, I asked my mom to meet me down at Trolley square to do some Christmas Tree Ornament shopping (I'm so excited to decorate my tree!!!) and go to Spaghetti Factory. Of course Pottery Barn didn't have their Christmas stuff out ( I had a couple of gift cards there) so we spent most of our time in Williams Sonoma.... which is my new FAVORITE store. My mom and I could stay in there for hours!!! I limited myself to only buying some cake pans, but there were so many cool gadgets I could have bought them out! After lunch, Lauren and I went to Thriller with the drill team and It was so much fun!! We had a blast! Here are a few pictures from the weekend....

After the Show Lauren and I took a picture with this guy... If you zoom in close to the picture, his makeup was awesome! We had so much fun!Spaghetti Factory with my Mom and LaurenLook out point and the view over the valley (Its behind our big heads... we took the picture our self)This crazy guy was miming across the street when we were at a stop light so Jed called him over and gave him a couple dollars and I took a picture.... You probably had to be there to get the humor. The Blue Iguana after Jed ate the entire burrito... I wanted to go to Benihana but I was out votedJed on one of his last bites from the burrito. It took up that whole plate and was probably 6 inches across and 6 inches tall. I can't believe he ate the whole thing, but you can tell he isn't feeling very well at this point. At least he won the free dessert!Brady, Jed and me at dinnerCook, Alex, Amy and Mark (the other half of the table)You can kind of see how big the burrito was.. Jed had already eaten most of it at this point

Highschool

Sara Tagged me AGAIN-- But this time I refuse. I didn't like highschool (even though I regret a lot about it now... and I wish I could do it over) but I agree with Elisse in saying that those were simple times and I did take them for granted. Plus I don't have any pictures on my computer of those days, so if you want to see a picture of me in highschool, look at Elisse's blog. For those of you who know me well know about my highschool years so we don't need to bring them back up :)

On a happier note, everyone check out my video and photography company with my good friend Jared from Highschool. Check out www.customfitt.com and www.customfitt.blogspot.com! I'm really excited to have something fun like this to do, so let everone know about us! We do everything.. Weddings, Family Portraits, Seniors, you name it! Take a look at our blog and let me know what you think (the website is up, but still under construction) . Thanks guys!!!

Tag! You're it!

Sara tagged me... so I guess I will do as she asks and answer the questions....

Six Question Tag

1. Six places that I go over and over: Work, Home, Gym, My moms house, Olive Garden, and Target (there is a hole in the fence from my apartment to Target, so I go there ALL the time because I always am missing just 1 ingredient for a recipe)
2. Six people who email me regularly: Mom, Dad, Joanne, Sara, People at work, all of Jed's Family (they send me forwards a lot)
3. Six of my favorite places to eat: Olive Garden, Benihana, Texas Roadhouse, Cafe Rio, Zupas, and Thai Siam
4. Six places I would rather be right now: Considering the cold weather.. at home in bed with a lot of blankets, Cabo San Lucas, Hawaii, at a funny Movie, any where with my Husband, or on a cruise. I've never been on one, but I can't wait to try one!
5. Six people I think will respond: Probably no one? But I tag... Amy and Amy, Annie, Amber, and Terra... everyone else I know who blogs has already done it!
6. Six TV Shows I watch: Greys Anatomy, The Office, Desperate Housewives, Arrested Development.. I just finished all 3 seasons and It was hilarious! and my guilty pleasure TV Shows that Jed hates, One Tree Hill and The Hills

Six Quirks About me:

1. I CAN NOT wear brown and black together. Its like a sin to me... however, Stacy and Clinton say this is ok since they are both neutrals, so its ok if you do it, but I never will.
2. I love Pickles. I eat them all the time! I wonder what Im going to crave when Im pregnant!
3. Im missing half my top lip due to a bad sledding accident when I was 3. Very bad memories, but luckily you can't tell unless I point it out
4. I can't stand the sound of people picking their nails... ask Jed. He is at the top of my list for offenders of this rule.
5. I love yummy smelling things in my house. I have a very large collection of candles, and now I have a large collection of Scentsy Scents. I usually melt a candle in our room, have a candle burning on the dinner table, and have my scentsy melting in our living room. All at the same time. that may not seem like a lot, but we live in an apartment and all those rooms are about 10 feet apart... but I still do it!
6. I have to sit down to do my makeup or stand and inch away from a mirror. I don't know why, but I can't use a normal counter and mirror for this. Most mornings I take my makeup bag out to my car and put my makeup on out there before I head to work... that way I can get super close to the mirror and I'm in natural light.. Im sure my neighbors think Im crazy... but who cares! It works for me :)

Lauren's Dance Performance

Lauren Performed her Drill Team's Dance routine at the Homecoming Assembly today and Elisse wasn't able to make it so I recorded it for her to see. I am posting it on here because I have no other way for her to see it... It isn't the best quality, but if you're interested, go ahead and watch! Lauren is on the front row on the right (something us tall Bonan's have never been able to accomplish!!!) when the dance starts and you just have to follow her from there. I'm so proud of you Lauren!!! Carrying on the Drill Team Tradition... :)

Lake Powell 2008

Jed and I went to Lake Powell this last month with our friends Mark and Amy and their Family. It was a lot of fun! I've never been to Lake Powell before, so it was a new experience for me, but i really enjoyed it. We spent the whole five days boating and eating and more boating. I don't have a lot of pictures from the trip because my camera died after only a few pictures. The most memorable moment on this trip definitley was when we were down a canyon wakeboarding and we ran out of gas! People had been down this canyon with us all day.. until we ran out of gas and we were stranded. We all jumped in the water and a few of us took turns hooking the boat to our life jackets and pulling while the rest either pushed and kicked in the back or took turns paddling with the one paddle and knee board that we had. We actually made a lot of progress like this and after two hours, we finally found a house boat that let us borrow some gas to get home. Thanks Mark and Amy for inviting us! It was a fun trip!

We all hiked up to these Indian Ruins in the middle of the day. It was cool to see the houses they used to live in, but it was so hot! It made for a more difficult hike than any of us thought! All the friends that were on the trip.. Me and Jed, Mark and Amy, Andy Cook and Brandon Marchant. Andy left his wife home working so Brandon came to fill in the extra spot.
The view over where we hiked from to get to the indian ruins. Beautiful view!
Jed showing off his mad skills wakeboarding! He is getting really good at jumping the wake, and he even does a board grab now!
Jed, Cook, and Marchant playing around in the water after our incredibly hot hike

Jen and Abe's Sealing 9/9/08

My Cousin Jen and her Husband Abe were sealed in the Rexburg Temple yesterday. My Mom was already up there, so Lauren and I drove up together right before the ceremony, went to the yummy dinner, and then drove back. It made for a long day, but I'm glad we went! It was nice to see all my cousins and family!

Just Kidding!

So what ever Jed passed in the last post I made, was not a kidney stone. We aren't sure what it was... but Jed did finally pass his big stone yesterday at home. It was HUGE! It was almost as big as a piece of corn. It doesn't sound big, but think about where it came from, and I can see why Jed was in so much pain. So hopefully the kidney stone thing is over, and I'm so happy Jed didn't have to have an expensive surgery!!!!!

Friday, September 5, 2008

Congratulations! It's a....

After weeks and weeks of waiting and pain, Jed is finally the proud owner of a beautiful... Kidney Stone! He's been in a lot of pain the past few weeks and its been worse this week, so after a bunch of doctor visits and medicine, Jed finally passed what seems to be a partial piece of a kidney stone. He still has more to come, but he's not in as much pain. He goes back to the urologist for more x-rays and testing today, so hopefully it'll be good news!!
You can't see it in a picture because it is so little, but I made Jed take a picture with the plastic bag that it's in...

By Demand

By Demand of my older sister, here are some more pictures that they claim they have never seen. There are some of our honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas and some of our first camping experience over Memorial Day Weekend Dinner at the Giggling Marlin, a famous restaurant in Cabo. Aside from Jed almost throwing up the extremely hot salsa, and Beer getting spilled all over me from the drunk table next to us, it was a fun experience
Nacho Libre? No... that's just Jed. Had me fooled for a minute there though

The Pirate Ship that we had our Snorkeling excursion on. Pope gave this to us for our wedding. It was really fun to be a pirate and the snorkeling was freezing cold! I have never been that cold in my life! Jed is a fish though and loved it. We saw a sting ray, and Jed even held a puffer fish! It was a very fun day even though I found out I DO get motion sick

The top of an exclusive VIP Highroller hang out at the Playa Grande hotel. Jed's Mission buddy Steve Pope got us a key to hang out up here on top of the hotel. The swimming pools looked like they dropped off into the ocean, and the view was gorgeous! There was even a water slide!
The view over the Marina in downtown Cabo San Lucas
This was our Bathtub/Shower... it was HUGE! We had to take a picture to prove it

This is the lovely Scooter that we paid Mucho $$$ for to use for 4 hours. It was a lot of fun driving around Cabo, and it was definitely exciting when we got pulled over by the Mexican Police. They wanted to take us to jail and everything! Luckily, Jed knows his stuff and he got us out of a sticky situation with a $4 bribe

Four Wheeling on Memorial Day up American Fork Canyon. It was freezing, raining, and we were covered in mud! But is was a very memorable Camping experience
