Cherry Hill 2009 (A LOT of pictures)

When I say a LOT of pictures, I mean it! Since I wasn't allowed to swim this year, I was the picture taker for the yearly Sainsbury family reunion at Cherry Hill in Kaysville. It is such a fun time to get together with family and swim, camp and sit around and talk. We had a blast and I can't wait to go back next year! I took a bunch of cute pictures (mostly of Wrigley but she is such a doll, who can resist taking pictures of her?!?) Sweet 16 and House Updates

Yesterday was my little sister Lauren's 16 Birthday! I can't believe how old we are all getting! Its nuts... but she started the day off getting her drivers license (she was soooo excited!) then lunch at our favorite place Olive Garden for lunch. After lunch we went to the MAC counter and got mini makeovers. It was fun to be with the girls and have some fun make-up time. Later that night we had a family dinner with cake and presents and then all her friends came over. I think it was a pretty good birthday for her!

My Mom WAY out did herself with this cake!!! This woman is crazy! I had to get a couple pictures of it because it was so pretty.

Here is a close up of the cake. It was two layers. The bottom layer was a homemade from scratch double chocolate cake, and the top heart layer was a red velvet cake mix. Needless to say the bottom layer was MUCH better. She put cream cheese frosting and chocolate ganache with strawberries. It so DELICIOUS! I'm telling ya, my mom is super woman!

Jed and I got Lauren tickets to the Fray .... this was a recreation of the surprised moment. (the original was much better, but I didn't have my camera out and missed it )

She got a lot of fun presents and I think she had a pretty good day... Happy 16th Birthday Lauren!!!!

In other news, our house is coming along. It is so fun to drive out there and see the progress they have made. Jed and I are SO excited and can't wait until we get to move in!

They have the stone and siding up, but they still have a lot to do! Now you can sort of tell what it will look like finished

This is going to be the kitchen. Jed is going to do our cabinets custom and they are going to be amazing!!! I am so excited to see them installed because they are going to be incredible. My hubby is amazing and I am proud of him for wanting to do the cabinets all by himself (I can't wait for you to see the finished product. Jed designed them on his own and its going to be awesome!!!!)

I was SOOO excited when I saw there was some drywall up! Its only the dividing wall, but still! This is the family room (I love that it is open and 2 stories high!) and the stairs going up are on the left

And my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE part... our house number is up! Its all ours! 10449 Sage Vista Way will be our address for the next years of our life. I am so excited to move to a new neighbor hood of young families (yay!!!) and I am so excited to move on the the next phase of our lives and start our family in this house! Who knew a bunch of wood and concrete could be so fun!?!? :)

Bahamas!!!

So I finally found the cord to download my Bahama pictures.. I will warn you, there are a lot of them! We had so much fun and I am so glad that we have been able to do fun things like this. This was my first cruise and it was definitely an experience! I will definitely go cruising again, but I think we will try a different ship next time (some of these pictures are out of order.. I'm still trying to figure out how to get them uploaded in order)

We're in Miami Trick! This is on top of the ship when we first left the port. Miami is kind of a dirty city until you get out to south beach. Then it is gorgeous!

This is when we first arrived at Miami International. We look TERRIBLE (at least I do). We left in the middle of the night and didn't get any sleep on the plane because it was so turbulent. We connected in Atlanta and then on to Miami. We got there at 9:30 in the morning and then we had to sit around the airport waiting for our transfer for 2 hours. It was a LONG morning.

This was at the front of the ship on the top deck. I was really nervous at first because I am scared of heights and those ships are HUGE!!!!

South Beach... Now I know why Will Smith is going to Miami :)

First stop! Freeport Harbour. You get off the ship and it is a small port with only shops. We decided to take a Taxi to the beach since that is what we went to the Bahamas for. The people down there were SCARY. They would fight with each other and yell and scream to try to get the tourists to go in their taxi. It was scary... but we finally got to the beachJed is my little fish. He loves the water and loves swimming with the fish. It was so gorgeous! I loved it here. The water was so clear and warm! It was so much nicer than the beach in Mexico where we went for our Honeymoon.So pretty! I wish we lived closer to a beachDay 2: We stopped at Nassau. My whole goal for going to the Bahamas was to go to the Atlantis Hotel water park. I was looking forward to this since we decided to book the trip. We got on the ship and went straight to the shore excursions desk to book our spot and they wanted $250 to go! I was so mad because I had no idea it would cost that much. We didn't have the money to do it, so we just took a cab over to the hotel to look aroundThe hotel was gorgeous and reminded me of a Tropical Caesar's Palace. It was fun to just walk around and see all the fun sea life at the Hotel. They had HUGE tanks that held all sorts of animals. We even saw a giant manna ray. After the Atlantis , we walked over to the public beach and played in the water again. The current was so strong that it would push you over when it hit your feet. We had a lot of fun at that beach. I didn't get to go to the water park, but we ended up having a blast anyway. I guess now I have an excuse to go to Nassau and stay at the Atlantis :)Before we left, Elisse told me all about the towel animals that they leave in your room. I was looking forward to this, but day 1 and 2 passed with no such luck. I was beginning to think I wasn't going to get any when I finally walked in our room and there he was!!! Our new pig. They put Jed's sunglasses on him and it was so cute!Day 3 was Great Stirrup Cay Island. This is the private Island that Norwegian Cruise Line owns. This was probably my FAVORITE stop on the cruise. They look us by ferry to this small island where the water was shallow and crystal clear. They had a bbq set up for us and since it is a private island, our ship was the only one there! It was so nice to just sit by the beach and not have a bunch of people pestering you to buy their necklaces or pay for banana boat or para sailing rides. Jed rented some snorkeling equipment and I read my book while he explored. He was out there for a while and loved looking at all the fish. I finally braved it (I am not a fan of fish like he is) and borrowed his goggles to see all the tropical fish. I have to admit there were some very colorful and fun fish to look at. They weren't scared of Humans either. They would swim around your legs without a care in the world.This was the view from the ferry as it took you to shore-- SO GORGEOUS!!!Our ship the Norwegian Sky docked out at seaThis was the night that we dressed up. The food wasn't great, but we decided to dress up anyway and make the best of it. Doesn't my husband clean up well?!? :)

That was the last night of the cruise. Then we sailed back to Miami and spent a whole day in the airport again. We had a blast and I am so grateful that we were able to go on such a fun vacation for our 1 year anniversary. We will never forget it and I am so happy that we have such wonderful memories from the trip

As for other BIG news.... WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!

It is just being framed right now as you can see but we are so excited (this is why we didn't have money to go to the water park. We are saving every last penny for our down payment). It is in South Jordan on the same street as the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. It has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and an unfinished basement. This is a huge step for us and we are nervous to be home owners, but so excited at the same time. We are living in my parents basement while it is being finished (thanks mom and dad!!!!) and we are counting down the days until we will be able to move in. They are saying that it will be done in August, but we will see if that actually happens. Its fun to go out and see the progress that they have made on the construction. We got to pick out our colors on Saturday and we can't wait to see it all come together!!! We know this will be a great location to start a family. I guess we can officially say we are "Grown Ups" :)

1 Year Anniversary

Friday, June 5th was our First Anniversary! I cannot believe that it has already been a year! To celebrate, Jed and I went on a cruise to the BAHAMAS! It was a lot of fun (pictures soon... I have to find my cord that transfers the pictures to my computer) and it was fun to be able to talk about our special day and the things we have done together since then. I love Jed so much and am so grateful that I have such an awesome Hubby!
